A Proven Model for Success

The model for A2EP was inspired by the success of similar groups operating on the international stage, particularly the US-based Alliance to Save Energy.

The Alliance to Save Energy has played a unique role in American energy efficiency policy-making and community change processes. For over 30 years, the Alliance to Save Energy has been at the centre of energy policy debates in the USA, and has helped design, implement, and evaluate a range of domestic and international demand side and distributed energy programs.

A2EP was established in 2009 as the Australian Alliance to Save Energy (A2SE) to undertake similar work in Australia. We serve as a facilitator and informer of the energy productivity debate, driven by robust empirical data and research.

Through its activities, ASEP provides mechanisms through which governments can engage with the business community and the community at large about the imperative of energy productivity.

A2EP uses networks to make the policy-making process broader and more inclusive, to ensure that the best possible information finds its way into the hands of decision makers.

A2EP is a public company limited by guarantee.
